The “Jihad” Within

He came to scale, to multiply Himself worldwide, amongst all who will let go of themselves, for Him. The DNA change is the downpayment given inside of the TwiceBorn, inside of those who would otherwise live and die as mere mammals, whether nice or not-so-nice.

Once God’s Miracle-Gift of His Eternity-DNA is infused within those who fully trust Him and have a Second-Birth into the Second Adam and the Tree of Life (finally!), we still are left with an ongoing issue. “The Spirit and the flesh wage war with one another.” Eternity-DNA of the Second Adam, “the Gift of the Spirit” to the Twice-Born, and the mammal DNA from the first Adam, “wage war”: The “jihad” within us.

We still have mammal life.

We still have mammal instincts.

You’re part mammal and part God’s DNA.

And as we put aside the acts of this sinful nature, the Spirit and the flesh wage war with one another.

Will we succumb? Or will we Become?!

With “ever-increasing Glory”—little by little,

Letting go of mammal DNA,

Breaking the thick crust of human flesh: posing, pride, greed, lust, envy,

Forever surrendering our lives to Him, and telling Him so

to be washed and clothed in Him…

and then… moving daily to liberate the SecondBirth God-DNA!

Of course, still “so far less than perfect, yet so much more than flesh and blood.” “Who amongst you is tempted, that I don’t inwardly burn?” Three times I begged Abba to remove the messenger from satan, the thorn in the flesh. God said no. He said you need humility, and my forgiveness and unmerited kindness will allow you to strengthen your brothers, having suffered as they have.

Growth and humility are part of the Plan. If we claim to live today without “missing the mark” of the high calling and example of Jesus Christ, we are liars and the Truth is not in us. Failure reminds us that when we are weak, He is strong. And it’s our faith in Him that overcomes the world, not our willpower. Ever. Lest any man boast. He will not share His glory with another. It is only ever the righteousness of the Son that we are clothed in, and His very spirit in our DNA, that allows our relationship with the Father. And that by the Faith of Abraham, allowing Jesus to be king over us, in trust of His wisdom and love and power.

The process of growing is not a problem. Perfection is unattainable. The Spirit and the flesh, the Jesus DNA and the mammal DNA are always going to be fighting. But you need to put on the mind of Christ and the full armor of God and let the God DNA push back, push back, push back the mammal DNA, that you might grow into “the full measure of the stature of Christ” “to the praise of His glory.”
