The Tree of Life: Glory Comes at a Price

Throughout the millennia God’s storyline is consistent: His intention is not just to improve people’s behavior from the outside. He does not give us a belief system and something to attend. The real thing is Spirit-Life, supernatural Life from Heaven, not a fish bumper sticker and a different set of rituals. And He loves the whole world and extends His offer of Life to everyone from every culture and religion throughout the ages. We just come to Him, not a religion, and let Him, as the Head, work out what it looks like as we lay down our lives for others.

Jesus came to give humanity a share in God’s own nature—not information about God, but His very life planted within us. This is the great reversal of Eden: where the Tree of Knowledge tempted us to become our own god, Jesus invites us to surrender that ambition entirely and bow before Him as King of all, and in exchange He gives us Eternal Life itself, carried into us by the Holy Spirit.

Through the Second Adam, God came to share the Tree of Life this time.

God wants to fill that God-shaped vacuum in you. He wants to breathe His Heaven-Life into you, giving His Spirit to live IN you. “This promise is for you and your children, and all who are afar off,” from any nation, tribe, or tongue with the faith of Abraham towards the Son of Man and Son of God.

But there is one thing we have not discussed. “Few will be those who find it” amongst those who claim him (Mat.7, Luke 13). Why? Read what Jesus said. The road isn’t narrow because it belongs to one religious institution or because only a few people have the correct religion label. It is narrow because the road is an actual life with Him, under His rule, doing what He says—not merely having an association with Him.

Most people in the world religion known as “christianity” haven’t really given away their lives to Him. To those who will, He gives them a new heart, places His Spirit within them, unites them with Christ, and makes them His living home.

That is a FAR, far cry from the poverty of attendance-based, tree-of-knowledge-based religion, or from a love of the world, which makes us “God’s enemies.” Rearranged and managed religious mammal DNA is not the same as Spirit Life on a daily basis, Together.

You get to share that Heaven-Life, Eternity-DNA with Him. You get to live the way He Himself lived when He “stopped by” physically for a few years, to share our struggles and pain. That isn’t a law or rule or legalism to anyone who Jesus is living inside of. It is a relationship, by definition, or we are “none of His.”

We no longer need to protect our “rights” or our “godness,” or defend our supposed imaginary “goodness.” None of those matter anymore.

Now, we can live a life where we will gradually learn why and HOW Jesus walks on water and raises the dead, and sets prisoners Free. We can Experience it, in measure, in relationship with Him, minute by minute, doing nothing we don’t See the Father doing. Jesus showed us the Potential, if we abandon mammal-instincts as our go-to in our hearts and minds. For Him, out of relationship and trust. We now know, His way is what we were Born for.

No one ever promised and delivered anything like this before. Religion is nothing by comparison.
